CATHERINE + GRANT WEDDING 17 APRIL 2010

On Friday 16th April I flew from my home city of Brisbane to the North Islands of New Zealand which was a three hour flight across the South Pacific and landed in the city of Auckland. The country of New Zealand has been described as ' The Land Of The Long White Clouds' and it did not disappoint me for a minute. The weather was sunny with a touch of it's fresh crisp autumn weather where the sun was shining bright but as the sun set over Auckland the weather after coming from Brisbane of 27 degree became a cold 15 degree. Out of my suitcase came the beanie and my scarf, it has been awhile since these accessories where used since living in the United Kingdom, London.

The next day, the day of the wedding I made haste as I drove to Matakana, with my rental car and satellite navigation system working to it's full potential a bit different to what I am used to driving with my Golf GTI. At times of the journey it was sometimes very funny and also how other countries and its people drive 'scary'. I have never really had to use a GPS before and especially when the voice coming over the speaker is a women and I am taking direction where to go. I think even with the driving I manage to go to three different directions or even what exist to take, hence leaving early was the plan.

I manage to arrive at the vineyard about three hours before the wedding. This gave me time to chill out and take in the views. These are some of the photographs I took of the setting and the surrounding areas. It was an honor to be part of Catherine + Grant's wedding as a friend and as their guest not to work but to be part of their special day. The ceremony and the reception which is located in the wine region of Matakana is about an hours drive from Auckland and at the right place and time the beautiful bride arrive at the time of 3:30pm as the groom waited patiently.

So as promised the story continues...
