As I drove to Sharalynne + Andrew's wedding on a beautiful crisp winter morning I noticed there was not a cloud in the sky, just perfect blue. The wedding was taking place on Queensland National Heritiage Park Mt Tambourine. It took a good hours drive from the South-side of the Brisbane River. The road was winding and seems like a perfect sunday drive surrounded by lush green trees and canopies of branches over hanging the road to the top of the mountain. The place was busy with tourist having a picnic at designated rest area as well as taking the opportunity to stop and peer across the Great South East from lookouts and from the side of the road.
As I arrived at the hotel where and Andrew was getting ready I could see how excited the day was going to be he had a beer in his hand to keep himself calm and focus, with encouragement from his best man to see him through the new challenge that Andrew was to go through with his future wife Sharalynne. As the Groom and the Best Man where all looking great we all made our way to the Ceremony and where the Reception was going to take place at Lisson Grove Cottage. The place was fantastic containing self contained little english cottages, with beautiful manicured lawns and tall hedges to keep the privacy away from the road.
As I took photographs of the place the guest where making their to the ceremony area as they were great with smiles from the waiters and waitress with fine assortment of strawberries, platters of chesse and champagne as well as red and white wine. There was also acoustic music playing in the background which filled the reception with execitement as the guest and the Groom and his Best man waited anxiously for the Bride to make her appearance. Sooner as the guest arrived the lush green foliage of Lisson Grove was sprinkled with a dash of rain as the umbrellas were like seed pods piercing through the undergrowth to bring the new day.
With a sprinkled of rain a warm mist hovered throughout the ground and Sharalynne made her appearance. The guest quickly took their seats which were covered with white satin and laced ribbon... and the story continues.

Last weekends I had the pleasure of photographing a portrait session with Alicia + Jesus {my mum and dad} as a gift to my parents whom I love dearly I suggested that we go out on a lazy saturday afternoon and do a portrait shoot. And they said YES! plus i was not going take no for an answer. We had some fun and I 'm sure from the photography it shows with my mum looking great and playing up to the camera. And for my dad he just looked so cool. You see in our family I come from a very creative up-bring where my mum is a teacher and my dad an aerial photographer hence my desire to exceed expectations and delivery these moments of rapture. Last weekend I had the pleasure of capturing the engagement shoot of Emma and Richard both are so down to earth couple and easy going people you could ever meet. I drove to their place and suggested that we are will be photographing on the northside of town a place which I would describes dirty and gritty but at the same time very cool. I like to photograph places around Brisbane that are very cool and out of the ordinary not the cliche of Brisbane iconic places. I like to take a journey where the destination is not that important but the surrounding areas.
Emma and Richard have know each other since high school you may call the couple as High School Sweetheart, as we drove to the location as boys will be boys Richard and I spoke at lenghts about cars especially Fords and his XR6 Turbo and my Golf GTI as all things a car fanatics would and weather they watch Top Gear. But back to the engagement shoot and I hope you like and had fun doing the session and I look forward to doing the second shoot within the next couple of days at the moment enjoy the photographs that I spent with Emma and Richard. I have known Christina for awhile haven lived as my next door neighbour you can say that we grew up together. And today I am delighted to be Christina and Andrews wedding photographer but today was our chance before their BIG day to have fun and be in front of the camera and let the fun start. We first headed to the place where they were going to say their vows at the foothills of Mt Cootha Botanical Garden. We were blessed by sunny and warm weather perfect for their engagement photography shoot.
We roam around the garden with some of the beautiful native flowers you could see but most of all we were intrigued by the tranquil and peaceful surrounding areas of the Japanese Garden with it manicured lawns, trimmed hedges and the flowing water as you walk through over the wooden footbridges as well as tip toeing on the laiden stones. This was a place that you could lose yourself and watch the world go by but only hear the trickle of water flowing over the bed of stones. The next stop was the Brisbane Power House by this time of the day it was getting dark but I was very keen to shot the expose brick work.
The next session was GoMA Gallery of Modern Art. Again Brisbane weather did not disappoint us, so we walk around the area and found that the glass and concrete structure of the buildings with it's clean lines to be playful. So I hope the next time you will see their wedding day so enjoy.
